To dwell in sadness, anger, pain and depression is not a difficult thing. Anybody can do that. That is not hardship, and that is not difficulty. That is downward suffering. That is to keep digging your own grave and hoping you are getting out of it.
To sit quietly with sadness, breathe slowly with anger, absorb deeply the pain, and be still and calm with depression, that is a difficult thing. That is upward suffering. It is deep water in a sea storm. It is a deep-rooted tree in thunders, rains, and roaring winds. You do not hide from it. You do not run away. It shall pass, and You are Being with Life.
This is Life. Don’t try to run away or hide from it, dear. Face it. Welcome it with your open, vulnerable heart.
